The Retreat

I have been mulling over this idea for a little while now. Sometimes, if something does not yet exist, it is an opportunity to create it.

I know creative people from many different disciplines, media and walks of life. But most of them struggle with two things: finding a sense of community, and finding the time and space to focus on their creativity.

The Retreat will hopefully be a bridge for both.

The goal of this will be to gather a small group of creative people together for a day of creating and connecting. There are no limits to what kind of creativity is permitted, it will be open for everything from fiber arts to dance. How this takes shape is going to be a creation in itself, as I have never done this before and will definitely be working with everyone who ends up coming to help make this take a shape that works.

Ultimately, it will just be me offering the physical space for creative people to come together and create, and hopefully exchange ideas, feedback and suggestions as they do. Sharing our skills and learning with one another as we also lean into our own creative power and give ourselves the time and space to do just that. If anyone would like to volunteer to offer a guided activity, lesson or workshop, please let me know!

It will be free to attend. There are enough barriers in the world today without one more.

It will hopefully take place in the early summer, and will be mostly outside. It will be a one day event in Trent Hills, Ontario, and will not have an overnight portion, so attendees will have to arrange their transportation to and from. Attendees will be asked to provide their own materials, food and beverages, and make sure they are equipped to spend time outside.

I will be able to provide some materials, and the space, and (if desired) a limited itinerary for those who want one.
