phases is a journey through the different seasons life can have, from the passion and heat of summer to the cold grief of winter. It collects poems spanning roughly a decade of the author's life, often using a confessional style to blend candid observations of the world with emotional reflection. It is, ultimately, a journey of healing, and seeing the world in different ways.

From the back cover: just as the seasons burn, fade, freeze and bloom again, we too move through our phases.I hope this meets you where you are, whatever you are growing through.

Paperback, 120 pages.

Phases the best poetry book I've read from a new author. And if that seems like an extremely strong statement of praise, that's because it is.

It is not often you find a true hidden gem like this from a relatively unknown author, and it ends up being a pure joy to read. There is a depth and a magic to H. Duxbury's writing that somehow leaves you feeling full and wanting more at the same time.

    • J. Brown

Duxbury is an exceptional writer whom is able to capture numerous emotions in just a few stanzas. The poems in her book vary in size, however, each one delivers such an impact that you can't help but re-read the poem a few times before turning the page! She is most definitely a breath of fresh air in the poetry community as she sheds a whole new light on the genre with her unique and powerful writing skills. 'Phases' is an incredibly beautiful book written by an even more beautiful Canadian author, and any reader would be lucky to have this poetry collection on their shelf!

    • T. Coulombe

Absolutely love this book. It's easy to fall in love with her words and each piece is so relatable. I'll definitely be buying more copies to share with friends.

    A Friend in Book Form

This book of poetry was a wonderful companion in my time of winter, offering a soft place to land, a firm place to take off from and a loving embrace to come back to. I have been returning to it in gentler times, too; it is a much treasured and well-thumbed collection on my shelf.

"A debut collection that knocked my socks off"
